Infrastructure Classrooms, Chairs and Desks

Primary School classroom

Many primary schools in Nigeria do not have decent classrooms. Many either do not have or have dilapidated roofs, ceilings, doors, windows, paved floors, chairs and desks.  Lack of decent classrooms discourage children from going to school and those that are forced to go to such schools cannot focus.

To improve learning and attract children to school, there is urgent need to renovate or build new classrooms and provide comfortable chairs/desks for learning. UBEC recommends at least six forty-capacity classrooms. These classrooms must have two doors and five windows. They must be ceiled and paved. There must be forty desks and chairs in each classroom. The classrooms must be adequately lighted with fans for airing.
