WHO WE ARE
C-EDU (CSAAE Educational Initiative) is a flagship program of the Centre for Social Awareness, Advocacy and Ethics (CSAAE). At our core, we believe that every child deserves access to quality education — one that is inclusive, affordable, and empowering. Â
We are committed to building a society where children can learn in safe, supportive environments and grow into responsible, productive citizens.Â
C-EDU was born out of a deep concern for the state of primary education in Southeast Nigeria. In 2023, CSAAE released a revealing report on the state of primary education in Southeast Nigeria. The findings were concerning. After a two-year study involving 185 trained researchers and assessments of over 1,300 schools—funded by OSIWA—we discovered that none of the schools met the basic minimum standards set by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).Â
This wasn’t just data—it was a wake-up call.Â
C-EDU was born out of the need to address these gaps—practically, sustainably, and in partnership with communities.Â

How We Make a Difference
C-EDU focuses on practical, high-impact interventions that touch every part of the learning experience:
- Safe Schools: We build perimeter fences and provide trained security personnel to ensure that schools are safe spaces for learning.Â
- Better Classrooms: We renovate old classrooms, build new ones, and furnish them with comfortable desks and chairs —because children learn matters.Â
- Clean Water and Hygiene: We install WASH facilities to keep children healthy, reduce absenteeism, and promote dignity.Â
- Empowered Teachers and Learners: We train teachers, provide essential learning materials, and equip schools with libraries, ICT labs, and school kits to make learning engaging and competitive.Â
