Ikeduru Community School WASH Project: Clean Water and Solar Power Transform Students’ Life

Access to clean water is life-changing, and at Umueze Community School, we’re making it sustainable too! The Umueze WASH Project is setting a new standard for education and community development by combining renewable energy with safe water access

Here’s what’s happening:

Overhead tanks installed for reliable water storage

Solar panels powering the entire system, reducing reliance on the grid

CCTV security to keep students and facilities safe

Advanced filtration technology for water that’s clean and healthy

Impact on Students and Learning

Before this project, students often missed classes to fetch water or struggled with unsafe sources. Now, over 50 students have access to clean, safe water, powered by clean energy!

This means:

✔ Better health and hygiene for learners

✔ Reduced waterborne diseases

✔ More time for study and extracurricular activities

✔ A greener campus that teaches sustainability by example

This is more than infrastructure—it’s sustainability in action. By harnessing solar power, we’re building healthier schools and protecting the environment for future generations.

Join us in celebrating this milestone! Share this story and spread the word about clean water and renewable energy in schools.
