WASH – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

Toilet facility in a primary school

In many primary schools across Nigeria, children don’t have access to something as basic as clean water or a toilet. When they’re thirsty, they leave school to find water. When nature calls, they either head home—or into the nearby bush. Many never return to class. Some face dangers like kidnapping, snake bites, or illness. And parents? They’re understandably worried.

No child should have to choose between safety and education

Our Response: Dignity Through WASH

At C-EDU, we believe that clean water and safe toilets are not luxuries—they’re essentials for learning. That’s why we partner with donors to:

  • Drill solar-powered boreholes to provide clean, reliable water
  • Build modern toilet facilities—three for boys and three for girls, as recommended by UBEC

These facilities don’t just improve hygiene. They keep children in school, protect their health, and give parents peace of mind.

Why It Matters

A child who can drink clean water and use a safe toilet is more likely to stay in school, stay healthy, and stay hopeful.
